November is here and so is the feel of the festive weekend in India. For a Cinephile, it’s going to be a pleasant time when Netflix India is going to feature a few interesting new releases along with the much awaited mega release of House of Cards Season 6. Like every week, Netflix India has a mix of genres to offer on November 1 & 2, 2018. Here’s the list of new releases on Netflix India –
1. Follow This: Part III – Documentary by BuzzFeed
Are you BuzzFeed fan? Well, who isn’t? Even if you aren’t, it’s always interesting to know what happens in the Newsroom of a giant media company. “Follow This” – a documentary by BuzzFeed will also give you a peek into what work lies behind the seemingly invincible success of this media giant. While we have seen most of it, Netflix is bringing the third and final installment which is going to feature on Netflix India (November 1, 2018). For what seemed interesting in the last two seasons; “Follow This” also happens to be one of the anticipated new releases on Netflix India.
2. The Judgment – Netflix Original Series
“The Judgment” by Netflix is a Thai drama in the backdrop of Eukodom University. It tells the story of a young vulnerable woman and how everyone takes advantage of her vulnerabilities. The Netflix original series is more like a teen opera and seems to depict relationships, peer pressure, and also how social media affects them. With Asian Cinema reigning its way to the top of the charts, we also expect a lot from “The Judgment”.
3. The Holiday Calendar – Netflix Original Film
Scintillating visuals, the festive feel of Christmas, and innocent humor are aspects that make “The Holiday Calendar” one of the most awaited new releases on Netflix India. The film is directed by Bradley Walsh and the screenplay is written by Amyn Kadereli. It will feature Kat Graham, Quincy Brown, Romaine Wait, and also Ron Cephas Jones as main characters. Also, here’s a tidbit – It was titled as “Christmas Calendar”. Even though it’s clichéd but we would have loved it for the alliteration effect. Tee-hee!
4. The Other Side of the Wind – Netflix Original Film
For all those who are fans of the legendary filmmaker Orson Welles, his dream project is here. The man who had made a revolutionary film called Citizen Kane had claimed that “The Other Side of the Wind” is going to be even more ambitious than the former one. Sadly, the project had remained incomplete. However, we are fortunate that the Netflix India will feature it on November 2, 2018.
The film tells the story of a filmmaker named J.J. “Jake” Hannaford (Hudson) who returns to Hollywood after a long stay in Europe. Biographical air, eh! Well, Welles had denied the insinuations about the similarity between his life and the film’s plot. However, as fans of Orson Welles, we would like to believe that we will get a peek into what grit makes a filmmaker come back after a hiatus. Including this in the new releases on Netflix India also imparts a sense of relief and pride at the same.
5. They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead – Netflix Original Documentary
“They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead” documents the making of “The Other Side of the Wind” – one of the new releases on Netflix India this week. The title comes from an excerpt by Orson Welles himself to a fellow director named Peter Bogdanovich. The film is directed by Morgan Neville who had gained popularity in 2014 after winning an Academy Award for “20 Feel Stardom Fame”. Moreover, his recent documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” had received critical acclaim. So, we can also say that the Orson Welles documentary looks to be in safe hands.
6. House of Cards Season 6 – Netflix Original Series
A formidable plot, dirty politics, filthy murders, and avaricious aspiration are everything you need for a perfect political thriller and “House of Cards” caters it perfectly on the silver plate. It is also arguably the most awaited new releases on Netflix India this year and has taken shape after facing hurdles. Here’s the link to complete peek into the first 5 seasons which also contains the details of hurdles it has faced and what we can expect in House of Cards season 6.
